When I was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2008, I proudly took an oath which included the following:
I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Florida. I will maintain the respect due to Courts of Justice and Judicial Officers.
As we swiftly approach this very important Election Day in the United States of America, I fear that I would not be faithfully discharging my duties as an officer of the court and a defender of the Constitution if I don’t use my modest platform to remind as many people as possible to perform their civic duty by voting. When is Election Day? Well, this year Election Day in the United States is Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Flexible options such as vote by mail and early voting are available for Florida voters. Certainly, with the Coronavirus pandemic, voting by mail may be one of the most patriotic acts that one could perform in 2020.
If you’re not in Manatee or Sarasota County, here is the Florida Division of Elections’ website with links to the Supervisor of Elections websites for every single county in Florida. Yes, all 67.
